Dr. Cristina Balsera has been at her established private practice serving Tampa Bay since 2000. Earlier in her career, she was a board-certified internist. She was also a transplant nephrologist with the former Lifelink Transplant Institute in Tampa, Florida. Dr. Balsera completed her medical degree at the University of Miami, School of Medicine, in 1995, and performed an internship at the University of Miami, Jackson Memorial Hospital. She completed her residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in nephrology at the University of South Florida. She is board certified in nephrology and is fluent in Spanish. As Medical Director of the DSI Kidney Dialysis Center in Brandon, she is an advocate for home therapy for patients through education. She strives to empower her patients to remain independent, continue to work, exercise, maintain their hobbies and interests, travel and spend time with family.
