Dr. Akary initially completed his training in Electrical Engineering at the University of California which afforded him experience in designing widely used medical devices, participating in federal defense projects and submitting several patents. He proceeded to obtain his medical degree from the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine. He continued at the University of South Florida for his Urology residency where his training took place at Tampa General Hospital, James A. Haley VA Hospital, Moffitt Cancer Center, and Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. During the course of his training Dr. Akary was nominated and accepted to the Gold Humanism Honor Society for his compassionate, collaborative, and scientifically excellent care.
