Scott T. Martz

Dr Martz will be accepting new patients in his Englewood office. His philosophy of patient care is to provide exceptional care for all urologic conditions while understanding non-urologic conditions may influence a treatment plan. He plans to work closely with primary care physicians and other specialists in order to deliver comprehensive medical care.

Dr. Martz grew up in Chicago and attended Florida Southern College in Lakeland, FL. He returned home to attend medical school at Midwestern University. He spent the next six years completing his Urological Surgery Residency at Chicago's Cook County Hospital where he encountered a wide range of urologic conditions. During his time at Cook County Hospital, Dr. Martz received extensive training in the treatment of urinary stone disease, urologic oncology, enlarged prostate, female incontinence, urologic trauma/reconstruction, and minimally invasive surgery. He also participated in basic science research examining the possible identity of a stem cell as the cause of prostate cancer. He has presented his work at multiple national conferences and received several academic awards. Dr. Martz has served as a guest lecturer on the diagnosis and management of urinary bladder trauma for Chicago Urologic Society. Upon completing his residency, Dr. Martz joined the hub of a regional medical center in Tyler, Texas. He practiced for 7 years at the East Texas Medical Center Urologic Institute, before deciding to start Gulf Urology of Englewood in August of 2015. Dr Martz is currently residing in Venice with his wife and 3 sons.
